ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION?
Both teachers and students of Iyengar Yoga are welcome to register. The only requirement is a study of Iyengar yoga for three years or more and IYNAUS membership. For non-members, membership sign up is available via the IYNAUS website. For IYNAUS members, 2019 membership dues must be paid prior to attending the convention. IYNAUS members can pay their dues by visiting iynaus.org. International registrants can pay their dues and certification mark fees through their national member associations.
MAY I SIGN UP FOR LESS THAN SIX DAYS OF THE CONVENTION?
No, registration is offered for the full convention only. A single registration may not be shared by multiple students. At the present time, no day passes are being offered.
MAY I CANCEL MY REGISTRATION?
To receive a full refund (less a $150 processing fee), you must cancel your registration by March 1, 2019. Cancellations after this date will NOT receive a refund or credit of any kind. All refund requests must be made in writing to the Iyengar Yoga USA National Convention 2019 for refund by the Iyengar National Association of the United States (IYNAUS) by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org
All merchandise sales and charitable contributions are final; no refunds will be issued.
IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR VOLUNTEERING?
No. However, all volunteers will receive a special t-shirt to wear and be recognized by while working at the convention. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the events and earn the respect and gratitude of everyone who attends.
HOW CAN I CHANGE OR UPDATE MY REGISTRATION DETAILS?
You can edit the details (change contact information, purchase additional merchandise, etc.) of your registration as follows:
Visit the registration web site. (registrations opens in September 2018)
Log in with your email address and password. If you did not set a password when you registered, you will be emailed instructions on how to set a password. If you don’t remember your password, there is a link you can use to reset it.
Once you log in successfully, proceed through the different screens, updating any information or adding merchandise. If you need to pay for additional purchases, make sure to continue through the check out page.

ARE THERE ANY ROOMS LEFT?
The Dallas Marriott City Center is now open for booking! A block of rooms was recently secured due to the near sell-out of our room block at the Sheraton. The Marriott City Center is located at 650 North Pearl Street. It connects to the Sheraton via a Sky Bridge or a 1-block walk to the Sheraton. There is a block of rooms available until March 21st 2019 for $149 available via Sheraton Downtown Dallas link or calling 888.627.8191. Discounted parking rate is $15.00 for self-parking per car with in & out privileges in on-site hotel parking garages. Parking is based upon availability and exclusive of tax. The Sheraton Downtown Dallas is in close proximity to the Arts District, restaurants and shopping. Easy access from DFW or Love Field via DART RAIL SYSTEM for approximately $2.50.

WHEN BOOKING MY AIR TRAVEL, WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD I CHOOSE?
DFW International Airport (American Airline’s Hub) or Love Field (Southwest Airline’s Hub) are both great options with lots of flights. DFW is about 27 miles & Love Field is about 7 miles from downtown Dallas. DFW has immediate access to DART RAIL SYSTEM for $2.50, directly from DFW to a station in front of the Sheraton. Love Field has a free shuttle to a nearby DART RAIL station then $2.50 to the station in front of the Sheraton.
WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT?
DFW offers access within the airport to DART RAIL SYSTEM for $2.50, directly from DFW to a station in front of the Sheraton. The DART RAIL SYSTEM offers a 2 hour pass for $2.50 or daily pass for $5.00. The Sheraton Dallas Downtown Hotel located near the Pearl/Arts District DART station (services red, green, orange, and blue lines). ARE MEALS INCLUDED?
Light vegetarian hors d’oeuvres will be provided at the Meet and Greet at 5pm on Thursday before the Keynote Address.
A vegetarian or vegan dinner will be served at the Tuesday evening banquet. The Sheraton offers 2 dining option, in room dining and a Peet’s Coffee Shop.
WHAT ABOUT TRANSPORTATION TO NEARBY RESTAURANTS AND GROCERY STORES?
The hotel is in walking distance to Klyde Warren Park, Museum District, a multitude of restaurants and shopping. The TROLLEY, also known as McKinney Avenue Transit Authority, is an entirely FREE service for access in and around downtown Dallas. It operates in the Downtown area to McKinney Avenue. There are several restaurants on McKinney Avenue as well as a Whole Foods.

WHAT ARE THE OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES?
The convention begins Thursday, April 11th 2019 from 5pm to 7pm with a Meet and Greet
The convention finishes on Wednesday April 17th 2019, the last class ends at 2:30pm
Registration check-in is open on Thursday from 2pm to 5pm
Registration check-in on Friday starts at 6am to 8:30 & 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN YOGA PROPS?
To participate, you will need a yoga mat, four blankets, one block, and one belt. You will need to bring your own props, purchase a prop kit or individual props at the convention market place. Please note, there will not be props available for you to use at the convention. Make sure you mark them so that you can identify your props
We have a limited number of prop kits available for purchase when you register (mat not included). If you have already registered, you can log back in to your registration to purchase a prop kit (subject to availability).
Additional props and yoga supplies will be available from on-site vendors. The IYNAUS store will be open from 6:30am to 8:30am Friday before the first class. They will sell prop kits, straps, and mats. The marketplace grand opening is Friday from 5:00pm and 8:00pm..
WILL THERE BE A PLACE TO STORE MY PROPS ON SITE?
Yes, you will be able to store your props in a storage room near the mega class ballroom. You can also take your props back to your rooms.
WHAT IS IYENGAR YOGA?
Iyengar Yoga, one of the world’s most widely-practiced forms, emphasizes correct alignment of all parts of the body within each yoga asana (posture). This precision of approach builds strength and stamina, balance and flexibility, and a new sense of well-being. Achieving meditation in action, the practitioner learns to exist fully and vibrantly in the present moment.
WHAT IS IYNAUS?
The BKS Iyengar Yoga National Association of the U.S (IYNAUS), a not-for-profit organization, disseminates and promotes the art, science and philosophy of yoga according to the teachings of BKS Iyengar. The Association oversees teacher training guidelines, holds annual certification assessments, and maintains a code of ethics for its teachers. IYNAUS also produces a bi-annual newsletter, imports and sells Iyengar yoga publications and products from India, sponsors workshops and conventions, and maintains an archive of Iyengar yoga materials and a national directory of Certified Teachers.
